About This Application
Cognee Backup is a personal, self-hosted backup tool designed to securely archive encrypted snapshots to a user-authorized Google Drive account.
The tool integrates Restic for client-side deduplicated encryption and Rclone as the storage transport layer to upload encrypted backup repositories to Google Drive.
How It Works
- Local Encryption: All backup data is encrypted locally using Restic before any network transfer takes place.
- Scoped Google Drive Access: Uses the
https://www.googleapis.com/auth/drive.filescope to manage only the backup files and folders created by this application via Rclone. - Self-Managed Credentials: OAuth 2.0 tokens remain strictly on the user's self-managed server infrastructure.
This application is operated strictly for personal backup automation and does not provide public multi-tenant registration or third-party data hosting.
